ANKARA - Italian Ambassador in Ankara Carlo Marsili praised on Monday the relations between Turkish and Italian parliaments.
Turkish parliament signed a protocol with Italian Trade Center and Assorestauro Institution (Italian Association of Art Restoration) for restoration of the clock tower in Istanbul's Dolmabahce Palace.
Speaking at the ceremony, Marsili said that the protocol would be an important occasion for the architectural cooperation between Turkey and Italy.
Marsili said that Italian parliament extended support to Turkey's EU membership bid. Marsili added that Italian parliament speaker would pay a visit to Ankara in October to further develop relations between Turkish and Italian parliaments.
Italian Trade Center's President Umberto Vattani also said that Turkey grew seven percent in recent years and it was an important partner of Italian entrepreneurship system.
Vattani said that the number of Italian companies operating in Turkey was over 600, and Italy was the third biggest commercial partner of Turkey.
