Insurgents Warn All Truck Drivers They Face Death If They Work With U.S.

RAMADI, Iraq, Aug 4 (AFP) - Insurgents in the flashpoint city of Ramadi, west of Baghdad, on Wednesday warned all truck drivers delivering goods to US-led troops in Iraq that they faced death.
"We will kill anyone, whether Arab, foreign or Iraqi, inside any truck carrying goods to the damned occupation forces," said a statement from the advisory council for the mujahedeen, or insurgency leadership, in Ramadi.
"We will also kill anyone providing intelligence or information to the occupation while rewarding anyone who informs on a traitor."
The governor of the vast Al-Anbar province, which includes Ramadi and its sister city of Fallujah, resigned on Wednesday after his three sons were released by kidnappers who had demanded that he quit in return for their freedom.
Four Jordanian truck drivers were also released in Fallujah after the mujahedeen council there deemed they were innocent and had been kidnapped by a group of "bandits wanting to sully the image of the resistance".
A separate warning was issued in Fallujah to Jordanian truck drivers against delivering goods to US-led troops.
At least 23 foreign hostages, most of whom are truck drivers, are being held by different groups in Iraq. Many have demanded that their employers quit the country.
