SAKARYA (CIHAN) - Rail service between Istanbul and Ankara, which was suspended due to a train accident, will be re-opened today.
Turkish Republic Railways Service Vice Director General Erol Inan told reporters on Wednesday that cargo service will start today.
Cargo trains have been queuing up for 13 days due to the train derailment in the town of Pamukova, which left thirty-eight people dead and eighty people injured.
Inan said that all cargo trains waiting would pass through within two days. The Vice Chairman said that commuter trains would start this weekend.
All trains, however, will reduce their normal speeds by 20-30 kilometers at the accident scene.
