TALLINN, Aug 4 (AFP) - The Turkish government on Wednesday asked Estonia to extradite a suspected member of a Kurdish militant group Kawa who is wanted in Turkey for manslaughter, a spokeswoman for the state prosecutor's office told AFP.
Hemo Heybet Amedsson, 40, is suspected of belonging to banned Kurdish militant group Kawa and is also on the international wanted list.
"We have received an official extradition request from Turkey today," Kristiina Herodes, a spokeswoman for the state prosecutors' office told AFP.
Herodes said an Estonian court would take a decision on Friday.
"Till the court trial we cannot say what allegations Turkey has against him," Herodes said.
Amedsson was arrested in Estonia in mid-June and has since been kept in custody for living and entering the country illegally.
Last month an Estonian court declined his appeal to be released.
