NEW YORK, Aug 4 (AFP) - US share prices buckled in opening trade Wednesday, crushed by record-high crude oil prices.
After 15 minutes, the blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average of 30 top stocks had dropped 39.14 points, or 0.39 percent, to 10,081.10.
The broader Standard and Poor's 500 index fell 4.96 points, or 0.45 percent, to 1,094.73.
The technology-heavy Nasdaq index declined 8.69 points, or 0.47 percent, to 1,850.73.
New York's benchmark contract, light sweet crude for delivery in September, rose 15 cents to a new all-time high of 44.30 dollars per barrel in electronic trading before the official market opened.
