ANKARA - Belgian Treasury & Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Didier Reynders said on Wednesday that they appreciated the performance of the Turkish economy (especially in 2003 and 2004).
After meeting Turkish State Minister Ali Babacan, Reynders said Belgium had also economic difficulties in 1980's, adding that those were ironed out in time.
Babacan briefed Reynders about the outlines of the three-year economic program which Turkey has been preparing to put into force during 2005-2007 period.
Babacan said they exchanged views about the economic relations between Turkey and the European Union (EU).
Reynders arrived in Turkey on Tuesday evening as the guest of Babacan.
