High-speed Train To Cover Ankara - Konya In One Hour

ANKARA - The Turkish State Railways (TCDD) took the first step under the modernization of railways by asking interested companies to offer bids for the Ankara-Konya high-speed train line.
After its investment in a double-track railway line between Ankara and Istanbul, TCDD asked bids for the construction of a new double-track line suitable for high-speed train services between Ankara (Malikoy station) and Konya. The trip will last just one hour.
TCDD issued notices last week about preparation of prospectus for construction of nearly 230-kilometer double-tracked railway that is suitable for a high-speed train with a top speed of 250 km/h and it also issued notices about necessary specifications for construction of the line.
Pre-qualification process will end on August 9. Later, six prospective companies will be invited to negotiate with the TCDD and the ad hoc commission will later announce the winner.
