WE ARE ACQUAINTED WITH THAT VOICE
Turkish voices heard in video cassette of the execution of Murat Yuce, killed in Iraq, strengthened the possibility of involvement of Istanbul bombers.
One of the officials of Security Department said, ''it is a strong possibility that one of the two executioners, talked in Turkish in the video cassette, is Habib Aktas.'' It was reported that there are nine Turkish bombers in Iraq.

THERE ARE THREE MORE HOSTAGES IN IRAQ
One of the Turks taken hostage is Aytullah Gezmen, the friend of Murat Yuce who was killed in Iraq. Gezmen is working for the same company as translator. No information could be obtained from Gezmen who phoned his family 15 days ago.
The other two Turks are the drivers Abdurrahman Demir and Sait Unurlu. Foreign Ministry decided not to announce the name of Turks taken as hostage.

HIGH-SPEED TRAIN SUSPENDED FOR THREE MONTHS
High-speed train voyages will be suspended till Science Board report is completed.
Executive Board Chairman Prof. Yarman said, ''our studies will continue for three months. We are working on a program to find out the reason of the accident.''

HARSH VETO FROM SEZER
22 articles of Public Management Law, which was called 'giant reform' by the government, was vetoed. President Ahmet Necdet Sezer said that there is a deficiency in the law to bring headscarf to public areas. He reminded Justice and Development Party (AK Party) that a party was closed in the past due to headscarf issue.

RELEASE TO MURDERER OF NINE PEOPLE
Musa Daskin, who was a member of military wing of Hezbollah, was released with two billion Turkish Liras of bail. Daskin, who benefited from Reassociation Law, said that he felt remorse for the crimes he committed.

BLOODY TRADE
Ro-Ro Ships Operators' and Combined Transporters' Association (RODER) Chairman Saffet Ulusoy said, ''we can do nothing for those who lost their lives. We should continue our trade'' as Foreign Ministry started initiatives to rescue the four Turkish hostages in Iraq.
Ulusoy made the statement when International Transporters' Association decided to stop ferrying U.S. goods to Iraq.
RO-RODER Chairman Ulusoy rejected the decision of International Transporters' Association with commercial reasons and said, ''Iraq is a market of 3-4 billion U.S. dollars with exports and transportation. There may be some unpleasant incidents. We can do nothing for those who lost their lives. Trade with Iraq is indispensable.''

FEAR FOR SECOND EXECUTION
Although Bilintur Company announced that it decided to stop its activities in Iraq, no information was obtained from Aytuallah Gezmen, the friend of Murat Yuce. Gezmen, the translator of the company, is thought to be kidnapped.

WE HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION OUR RELATIONS WITH ISRAEL
In an interview with German Bild daily, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan recalled that relations between Turkey and Israel were based on historical ties. ''We see that it is a special responsibility of Turkey to pay attention to its relations with Israel.'' Erdogan said that Turkey had proven for centuries that Muslims and Jews can coexist in peace.

CARS UNSUITABLE FOR HIGH-SPEED
''High-Speed Train Project'' was suspended after train derailment in Sakarya which claimed 38 lives. In a report, Chamber of Construction Engineers stressed that cause of the derailment could not be investigated as the infrastructure was replaced shortly after the derailment. It also stressed that the engine and cars were not suitable for high-speed.

HOPE WHICH COMES WITH PRICES
Fight against inflation is successful. The State Institute of Statistics (DIE) announced that monthly inflation is 1.52 percent in wholesale prices, and rose by 0.22 percent in consumer prices in July of 2004.
In July 2004, annual inflation rate was 9.44 percent (wholesale prices) and 9.57 percent (consumer prices).
In the first seven months of 2004, inflation rate was 6.50 percent in wholesale prices and 3.28 percent in consumer prices.
Meanwhile, according to 12-month averages as of July 2004, annual inflation rate was 12.51 percent in wholesale prices and 15.11 percent in consumer prices.
Price increase in the private sector of manufacturing industry, which is called core inflation, rate became 0.3 percent in June.

SERIES OF EARTHQUAKES SHAKE AEGEAN
Nearly 100 earthquakes hit Mugla province in the Aegean region yesterday. Gokova town was shaken with earthquakes of magnitude 5, Bodrum town with 4.3 and Aydin province with 3.7 on the Richter scale.

GUL: WE DO THE NECESSARY
Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said that they exerted all the efforts to save the lives of Turkish hostages in Iraq.

SAHIN: THEY CANNOT BE HUMAN
Turkish State Minister Mehmet Ali Sahin said that Turkish driver Murat Yuce was killed in Iraq mercilessly. He added that he did not consider the murderers even as human.

AMONG KIDNAPPERS, THERE WERE TWO PERSONS SPEAKING TURKISH
Video of execution of Murat Yuce of Turkey who was killed in Iraq two days ago caused the Turkish intelligence units to take action. Police focus on members of al-Qaeda groups in Turkey. Murat Kizil of Turkey who was freed after he was kept hostage for 25 days in Fallujah claimed that there were two persons speaking Turkish among the kidnappers but they were not Turks. Speaking to the newspaper, Kizil said, ''kidnappers were wearing masks. About their skin color, I can say that they seem like Arab rather than Turk or Turkmen. One of them told us that he had studied in Turkey.'' In the beginning of the video of Yuce's killing, one person behind the camera says in fluent Turkish, ''let him speak first''. Police focus on possibility that persons who had staged bombings in Istanbul on November 15 and 20 might have been behind this killing. Meanwhile, it is stressed that dangerous period has started for more than 12 thousand Turks working in Iraq.

TRABZONSPOR TAKE SKONTO RIGA SERIOUSLY
Trabzonspor are going to host Skonto Riga of Latvia with whom they drew 1-1 last week in first leg of the Champions League second qualifying round. If Trabzonspor reach the third qualifying round, they will take on Dynamo Kiev of Ukraine, getting one step closer to the Champions League.
