Turkey Raises $849 Million Through Exports Of Hazelnuts

TRABZON - Turkey exported 211,964 tons of hazelnuts and earned 849,174,036 U.S. dollars in the 48th week of 2003-2004 hazelnut export season which started on September 1, 2003.
According to the data released by Black Sea Hazelnut & Products Exporters' Association, Turkey actually exporting hazelnuts to 80 countries.
Turkey exported 166,370 tons of hazelnuts to the European Union (EU), 25,565 tons of hazelnuts to other European countries, 12,796 tons of hazelnuts to overseas countries and 7,233 tons of hazelnuts to other countries.
In the same period of the previous export season, Turkey had exported 248,849 tons of hazelnuts and gained an income of 574,033,159 U.S. dollars.
