Turkey's State Minister Joins Opening Of European Football Championship

BERN - Turkey`s State Minister Murat Basesgioglu has been in attendance at the official opening ceremony of the 13th European Football Championship.
The ceremony was hosted by the Swiss government at the Lohn Castle in Kehrsatz near Bern.
President Heinz Fischer of Austria, President Pascal Couchepin of Switzerland, European Commission President Manuel Barroso, Crown Prince Alois of Liechtenstein, Prime Minister Alfred Gusenbauer of Austria, Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik of Austria, FIFA President Sepp Blatter, UEFA President Michel Platini and representatives of participating countries were also in attendance at the ceremony.
Basesgioglu held brief talks with Fischer, Couchepin, Blatter and Platini. They welcomed achievements of Turkish football teams in international events.
