ADANA - Winners of the "Mediterranean Countries International Short Film Competition" under the 15th Golden Boll International Film Festival have been revealed.
Hilmi Etikan, festival`s coordinator for national and international short films, said at a news conference that 150 films competed in the categories of fiction, documentary, animation and experimental.
"What DO I Know" by Sejla Kemaric and Timur Makarevic of Bosnia-Herzegovina won the best film award in fiction category while the best documentary film award went to "Jumate" by Diogo Costa Amarante of Spain.
In the animation category, the best film award was given to "Candid" by Zepe of Portugal. "Subtitles" by Turkish director Efe Oztezdogan won the best film award in the experimental category.
During the festival, leading Turkish filmmaker Halit Refig, actress Selda Alkor and actor Halil Ergun were presented with "Lifetime Achievement Award".
Meanwhile, twelve films are competing in this year`s national long-feature film contest. Those films are "Ara (Gap)" by Umit Unal, "Gitmek (My Marlon and Brando)" by Huseyin Karabey, "Golge (Shadow)" by Mehmet Gureli, "Hazan Mevsimi: Bir Panayir Hikayesi (A Fairground Attraction)" by Mehmet Yilmaz, "Multeci (Refugee)" by Reis Celik, "Nokta (Dot)" by Dervis Zaim, "Sakli Yuzler (Hidden Faces)"by Handan Ipekci, "Sonbahar (the Autumn)" by Ozcan Alperler, "Tatil Kitabi (Summer Book)" by Seyfi Teoman, "Ulak (Messenger)" by Cagan Irmak,"Beyaz Melek (White Angel)" by Mahsun Kirmizigul and "Made in Europe" by Inan Temelkuran.
The festival will end on June 8th.
