Turkish Cinema To Be Promoted All Around World

ANKARA - Turkish cinema`s most popular works will be promoted in 36 cities across the world as a part of a one-year promotion campaign.
The campaign`s first stop will be USA where several Turkish movies will be screened in New York and Washintgon, D.C. from June 9th to 16th.
Abdurrahman Celik, director general for Cinema and Copyright of the Turkish Culture & Tourism Ministry, said on Friday that the activities to take place in USA aimed to bring together producers, distributors, actors and directors from the U.S. film industry with their Turkish counterparts.
Numerous Turkish actors and directors will attend the activities as well.
"Beyaz Melek" (White Angel), a film by Mahsun Kirmizigul, which got several awards at the "41st Houston Film Festival", will be screened in Washington D.C. and a reception will be held after the screening.
A special night will be held in New York with the participation of Hollywood directors and leading names of the U.S. film industry as well.
Turkish movies will also be promoted in San Francisco and Chicago.
