TOKYO - Turkish President Abdullah Gul met with Yohei Kono, the speaker of Japanese House of Representatives, on the third day of his formal visit to Japan.
Turkish state ministers Kursad Tuzmen and Mehmet Simsek, TOBB Chairman Rifat Hisarciklioglu, and several academicians also attended the meeting.
Gul separately met with members of Turkish-Japanese Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group over working breakfast and visited Tokyo Mosque.
Gul later met with Turkish citizens living in Japan at culture center.
Addressing the Turkish citizens, Gul referred to good relations between Turkey and Japan and said, "you will assume the role of bridge to boost relations. I believe that you will represent Turkey in the best way."
