We Have Faith In Turkish Democracy, U.S. Spokesman

WASHINGTON D.C. - A spokesman from the U.S. Department of State said on Thursday that USA had faith in Turkish democracy.
During his daily press briefing, upon a question on USA`s stance regarding the recent political developments in Turkey, McCormack said, "Well, ultimately, this is an issue that the Turkish people --in this case, Turkish courts-- need to wrestle with".
"We are strong supporters of democracy in Turkey and Turkish democracy, and we have faith in Turkish democracy. But ultimately, these questions about politics and religion and different social values are going to have to be ones that are resolved within the context of Turkish law, politics, and their constitution," McCormack said.
Replying to a question on the cooperation between Turkish and Iraqi officials regarding the fight against PKK, spokesman Sean McCormack said, "I cannot speak to any possible exchanges or links between Turkey and Iran in cooperation against the PKK".
