President Gul Opens Exhibition In Tokyo

TOKYO - Turkish President Abdullah Gul on Thursday opened an exhibition in Tokyo on Ottoman fashion.
Princess Tokamado of Japan also visited the exhibition where the Turkish models promoted some of the dressings.
Gul and his wife Hayrunnisa Gul also attended a dinner hosted by Turkey's Ambassador in Tokyo Sermet Atacanli in Imperial Hotel and met members of "2010 Japanese Year in Turkey" committee.
Traditional Turkish cuisine was promoted at the dinner.
Speaking at the dinner, Gul said he was the first Turkish president paying a formal visit to Japan, and expressed wish that bilateral relations would be boosted and deepened.
Gul also conferred a medal of merit to Sachihiro Omura, head of a Japanese team that has been carrying out excavation works in Kalehoyuk in central Anatolian province of Kirsehir since 1986.
