BURSA - A Turkish municipality constructed a well and started the construction of two residential buildings and a temple in Cameroon under a campaign conducted in the country within the framework of UN's "Millenium Development Goals".
Mustafa Yilmaz from Osmangazi Municipality of Turkey's northwestern Bursa province said on Thursday that the well constructed in Cameroon's Douala province contributed remarkably to the solution of the water problem in the city.
Yilmaz said the water well constructed by the municipality was being used by all the residents of Douala.
Commenting on the activities conducted by his municipality in Cameroon, Mayor Recep Altepe said more wells, health clinics, hospitals and schools should be constructed in the country.
"Meeting the needs of people living thousands of kilometers away from us is a great pleasure. We will continue helping them," Altepe said.
