ISTANBUL - Turkey`s Land Forces Commander Gen. Ilker Basbug said Turkish Armed Forces cast serious blows to terrorist organization PKK with recent operations and PKK was in mayhem since December.
Delivering a speech at an international symposium on the future of the Middle East organized by General Staff`s Strategic Research and Study Center in Ankara, Gen Basbug said Turkey kept under control its border with Iraq with all its capabilities.
Gen. Basbug said Turkey-Iraqi border was top priority for them while Turkey-Iran border was their second priority as there were clashes between Iran`s security forces and PKK terrorists.
Gen. Basbug pointed out that despite heavy security measures, small groups of terrorists could infiltrate into Turkey and said Turkey firmly carried out fight against terrorism by all means.
Answering a question on whether Turkey was cooperating with Iran, Gen. Basbug said Turkey shared intelligence, communicated and made joint plans with Iran.
