MUGLA - The number of foreign tourists who visited an Aegean coastal province of Turkey increased by 17 percent during the first 5 months of 2008 over the figures of 2007.
A total of 473,000 tourists arrived in Mugla province via air way or sea route during the first 5 months of 2008, Mugla Governor Ahmet Altiparmak said on Tuesday.
Tourists mainly visited Mugla`s popular coastal towns Marmaris, Fethiye, Bodrum, Dalaman and Datca.
British, Dutch, German, French and Israeli tourists preferred Mugla the most, officials said.
