ANKARA - The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the American society in Ankara organized a race on Saturday as part of activities for the World Refugees Day.
The Second Traditional Balgat Race was held at the facilities of the American support element and was attended by diplomats, their families and friends.
Those running in the race of five kilometers did so in order to raise attention to the conditions and needs of more than 13,000 refugees in Turkey.
A photo exhibition was also on display at the support element showing pictures and drawings of refugees living in Turkey.
June 20th is celebrated as the World Refugees Day globally.
