BERLIN - Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan and his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier met in Berlin on Friday.
Speaking at a joint press conference, Babacan said the Turkish-German University, which was planned to be established in Istanbul, would be the highest level of friendly relations between the two countries.
Babacan thanked German officials for their support to Turkey`s EU bid and said that he informed Steinmeier about Turkey-mediated indirect peace talks between Israel and Syria.
Steinmeier thanked Turkey for its efforts to launch talks between the two countries and said a meeting on Middle East would be held in Berlin on June 24th which would also be participated by Turkey.
He also said that Turkey took a new step regarding reforms on the way to EU by amending the article 301 of Turkish Penal Code.
