ATHENS - Turkish Culture & Tourism Minister Ertugrul Gunay attended on Friday the meeting of Euro- Mediterranean (Euromed) Ministers of Culture in Athens, Greece.
The meeting, attended by executives from 37 countries, discussed how to improve intercultural dialogue and cultural policies.
Speaking at the meeting, Gunay said Turkey was part of Euromed process from the beginning.
Euromed (Barcelona Process) is a wide framework of political, economic and social relations between the member states of the European Union and partners from Southern Mediterranean.
"We want to see Mediterranean region as a core of peaceful world that we all have been dreaming of for a long time," Gunay said.
"Mediterranean, which separated our countries for centuries, now offers us to be hand in hand in its shores," he added.
Following the meeting, Gunay had separate meetings with his Greek and Hungarian counterparts.
