IZMIR - Sarah Chang, of the best-known violinists in the world, will come to Turkey to give a concert in the western province of Izmir on June 13th.
The Izmir Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Ibrahim Yazici, will accompany Chang. It will be the first concert of the newly founded philharmonic orchestra.
Chang will play "The Four Season" by Antonio Vivaldi and Ludwig van Beethoven`s Symphony no 5.
During her four-day stay in Izmir, Chang will visit the ancient city of Ephesus, the House of Virgin Mary and the other historical sites.
Born in the United States in 1980, Chang was recognized as a child prodigy early on and when she was 8, was given the opportunity to audition with such names as Zubin Mehta and Riccardo Muti.
At 9, she was possibly the youngest violinist ever to record. Her albums have taken part in classical best-sellers. She has received a number of awards.
