Turkey Takes Steps To Reduce Co2 Emissions, Transportation Minister

LEIPZIG - Turkish Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim said on Thursday that Turkey has taken a series of steps to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
Speaking at ministers` meeting at International Transport Forum 2008 in Germany, Yildirim said his ministry officials worked together with Ministry of Energy & Natural Resources on the matter.
Yildirim said road transportation was preferred mostly in Turkey and added that government exerted some efforts to make sea and air transport more attractive.
Following his schedule in Germany, Yildirim will head to French Guiana on Friday to watch launch and orbit of Turkey`s new satellite TURKSAT 3A.
