ANKARA - Turkish jets hit terrorist targets in the north of Iraq on Thursday, the General Staff announced.
The General Staff said that Turkish jets launched an air strike against terrorist organization PKK/KONGRA-GEL targets in Hakurk region in north of Iraq at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
"Sixteen targets that belonged to the terrorist organization PKK/KONGRA-GEL were hit in Hakurk region in north of Iraq," a statement the General Staff posted on its web-site said.
The General Staff said that Turkish armed forces showed necessary sensitivity to avoid any harm to civilian people and local groups, and damage assessment works continued after the successfully accomplished air strike.
