ISTANBUL - Dimitrios Grapsas, Chief of General Staff of Greece, visited Fener Greek Orthodox Patriarchate on Wednesday.
Grapsas, currently in Turkey upon an invitation from Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Yasar Buyukanit, was received by Greek Orthodox Patriarch Bartholoemew.
The meeting was closed to the press.
Patriarchate executives said Bartholoemew earlier expressed pleasure over the visit of Greek Chief of General Staff and noted that his visit was important to boost neighborhood and cooperation relations between Turkey and Greece.
"As the Orthodox Church, we are exerting efforts in line with this aim. We hope Turkish and Greek armed forces would always work in peace," Bartholoemew added.
