ANKARA - Head of Turkey's main opposition party said Tuesday that foreign direct investments (FDI) followed a downward trend in 2008 over the last year, citing a 4.6 billion USD decrease.
"FDI inflow have been decreasing seriously since January 2008, and this is a proof showing that the economy is handled badly," Deniz Baykal, leader of the Republican People's Party (CHP), told a parliamentary group meeting.
Baykal said revenue from real estate sales to foreigners also saw a steady decrease in the first quarter of 2008.
