Türkiye's state development agency concluded an agricultural cooperation agreement with Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday, committing the two countries to a joint cultivation technology initiative.
The Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) signed the protocol with Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management at a ceremony in the capital, Bishkek. Sweden's official development body, SIDA, will co-implement the project, while Türkiye will provide the required equipment.
TIKA serves as Türkiye's primary vehicle for overseas development assistance, maintaining coordination offices in 20 countries and operating across Africa, Asia, and Europe.
By 2006, the agency had completed 51 projects in Kyrgyzstan. That work included equipment donations and specialist support for the KABAR international news agency, technical assistance for modernizing the national archives, radio-communications training for the police service, and establishment of a computer laboratory at the national police academy.
