Jordan Hands Over Two Light Surveillance Aircraft To Iraq

AMMAN, July 29 (AFP) - Jordan handed over to Iraq on Thursday two light reconnaissance aircraft to be used for border surveillance, said officials at the company responsible for assembling the planes.
"Jordan's Chief of Staff, General Khaled Sarayreh, delivered the two aircraft to the deputy commander of the Iraqi air force" at Marka military airport in east Amman, Omar Masarweh, manager of the commercial operations at the Seabird company, told AFP.
The aircraft, SB7L-360 Seeker reconnaissance planes, are Austrialian-made and were assembled in Jordan.
Seabird, which is a joint Jordanian-Australian venture set up in July 2003, also has a contract to train 15 Iraqi pilots and technicians.
