DIYARBAKIR - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan unveiled on Tuesday an action plan to boost social and economic development in southeast Turkey, calling the initiative "a turning point for Turkey."
"What we are announcing today is not a mere report or a project. It is a well-defined, scheduled and a funded action plan to remove regional differences in economic and social development, unemployment and migration," Erdogan told a meeting in the southeastern province of Diyarbakir.
Erdogan also said Turkey`s state-run television is set to broadcast round-the-clock in different languages of the region.
"Our action plan and the new broadcast policy will constitute a social restoration to strengthen our social fabric, unity and integrity," Erdogan said.
