Turkish Official Named Head Of European Local Governments Congress

STRASBOURG - A Turkish official was elected on Tuesday to chair a congress of local and regional governments of the Council of Europe.
Yavuz Mildon, a member of the provincial council of Canakkale (from Justice & Development (AK) Party), will serve as the president of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities for two years.
Mildon was elected in 2004 as the president of the chambers of the congress.
