Japanese Nishiwaki Foundation Awards Turkish Scholar

ANKARA - Japanese Nishiwaki foundation awarded Turkish scholar Yasar Polatlioglu for his contribution to the international literature of Mathematics.
Istanbul Culture University faculty member, Assistant Prof. Yasar Polatlioglu told AA that this award was given to scholars who made the most valuable publications in a certain field. He said the jury consisted of scholars who received awards from the foundation in the past.
"They assessed that I was the scholar in my country who published articles the most in this field in international refereed journals, and presented me with this award," said Polatlioglu.
He said he was honored to bring such an award to Turkey and said it would be the only thing he would leave to his family.
Polatlioglu said scholars were not given the value they deserved in Turkey and asked officials to look out for scholars.
