ANKARA - European Union Association Council, the highest decision-making body in relations between Turkey and the Union, is set to convene on Tuesday to assess recent developments in Turkey`s accession and reform process, Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
The council meeting will also take up issues related to the Customs Union, and review financial cooperation and efforts to comply with the EU acquis.
The statement said Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan would address a joint Turkish-EU parliamentary committee at the European Parliament and the parliament`s foreign relations committee.
The Turkish foreign minister is also scheduled to visit Slovakia on Wednesday and meet his counterpart Jan Kubis.
Babacan will proceed to Stockholm to attend on Thursday a meeting of the International Compact with Iraq.
Babacan will also pay a working visit to Germany as the guest of his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier on Friday.
