TALLINN - A Turkish guitarist won a prize at an international music festival held in Estonia.
Turkish musician Cem Tuncer was ranked the second at the "International Nomme Jazz Festival" held in the Estonian capital, Tallinn.
Upon his success, Tuncer was invited to Finland`s "Pori Jazz International Festival" and Romania`s "Garana International Jazz Festival" as well.
Norwegian guitarist Kim Johannesen was ranked the first at the "International Nomme Jazz Festival" which brought together numerous young jazz musicians from Turkey, Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Norway, Russia and Romania.
Cem Tuncer, born in 1978, graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University`s Music School. He is currently doing a postgraduate study on "Turkish Music" at Istanbul Technical University. He is a columnist in the Turkish jazz magazine "Klinik" and he also works as a producer, arranger and composer. Tuncer attended many international festivals and gave numerous concerts in Europe since 1999.
