BEIRUT - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ali Babacan arrived in Lebanese capital Beirut to attend the general assembly session of the Lebanese Parliament which will convene to elect the new president of the country.
Chief of Staff Gen. Michel Suleiman runs as the only candidate for president.
Erdogan and Babacan will also participate in the oath-taking ceremony at the parliament.
Following the vote at the parliament, they are expected to meet parliamentary majority leader Saad Hariri.
