Environment Minister: Turkey's Activities Continue To Be A Party Of Kyoto Protocol

BODRUM - Turkish Environment & Forestry Minister Veysel Eroglu said on Saturday that activities of related institutions and organizations under coordination of his ministry were underway to be a party of Kyoto Protocol.
Speaking at the Annual Congress of World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in Bodrum town of western province of Mugla, Eroglu said that Turkish government was making its preparations for the worst scenario against effects of global climate change.
Eroglu said that Turkey, in Mediterranean zone, was one of the countries which were affected most from global climate change. He added that Turkey took part in the struggle against global climate change, and within that scope Turkey became a party of UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in 2007.
He said that Turkey had not been a party of Kyoto Protocol yet, adding that his ministry`s efforts were underway in this issue.
