ISTANBUL - A Turkish State Minister said on Friday that a country should have a strong capability in logistics if it desired to succeed in foreign trade.
Daniel Brutto, chairperson of the world-wide known logistics company UPS International, held talks with officials from Turkish Exporters` Assembly (TIM) on Friday. Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen attended the meeting as well.
Delivering a speech at the meeting, Tuzmen said, "the stronger your logistical capability is, the more successful you will be in the competition regarding foreign trade".
Tuzmen also said the current situation in Turkey would become more convenient if the responsibilities concerning foreign trade are delegated to logistics companies.
UPS chairperson Brutto said that his company was aware of the importance of Turkey`s position connecting the East and the West.
"Turkey is a key country for us," Brutto said.
He also said that particularly the young population in Turkey was a great opportunity for his country.
