BELGRADE - Turkish music band "Mor ve Otesi" has qualified to the final round of the 53rd Eurovision Song Contest held in the Serbian capital of Belgrade with its song "Deli (Crazy)".
Singers and bands from 18 countries competed in the semi-final. Turkey was ranked 9th among ten finalists (Latvia, Croatia, Albania, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Ukraine, Iceland and Georgia).
The 2008 Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Belgrade on May 24th. Serbia won the rights to host the competition after Marija Serifovic, from Serbia, came away with the top prize last year.
"Mor ve Otesi", which was formed by four young men in 1995 and released its first album "Sehir" (The City) in 1996, will appear on the stage on the 12th rank during the contest.
Turkey won the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest with Sertab Erener`s song "Every way That I Can".
