DETROIT, Michigan, July 29 (AFP) - DaimlerChrysler AGs Chrysler Group is leaning towards producing the ME Four-Twelve "supercar," that it showed as a concept earlier this year, the Detroit News reported Thursday.
"Its more likely than not," Chrysler CEO Dieter Zetsche told the News.
A decision is expected before the end of the year, according to Zetsche who said Chrysler would contract out the production of the 850-horsepower car.
A halo sports car, similar to the Dodge Viper, the ME Four-Twelve has been touted as the fastest street car in the world, capable of doing 0-to-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in under three seconds and of reaching speeds of 240 mph (386 km/h).
Zetsche told the daily that the automaker is considering two business cases: making just seven units a year -- asking price one million dollars, or dropping the price and making 1,000 units.
The car was shown as a concept at the Detroit auto show in January.
