ANKARA - Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind, the Pakistani Minister for Food, Agriculture and Livestock, met Turkish Agriculture and Rural Affairs Minister Sami Guclu on Thursday.
Guclu told reporters that there is a big cooperation opportunity on agriculture area between Turkey and Pakistan.
Guclu stressed that although political relations of two countries were very well, commercial relations were not on desired level. He said that commercial relations should be increased.
Meanwhile, Rind stressed that commercial relations between Turkey and Pakistan were not sufficient and he added that Turkey and Pakistan could cooperate on cotton production, water management and stock raising for interests of both countries.
Noting that milk production was on a very good level in Pakistan, Rind said that they were expecting Turkish investors to build milk and milk production factories in Pakistan.
After the meeting, Guclu and Rind signed Technical, Scientific and Economic Cooperation Protocol on Agriculture which was signed in 1995 and expired.
The protocol envisages to form Agriculture Executive Committee between two countries and to cooperate on agriculture, animal, plant and animal health, irrigation, seed improvement and exchange of personnel.
