ANKARA - The ''Silk Road Project'' aiming to promote Turkish exports will start from Istanbul on September 22, 2004, sources said on Wednesday.
Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen will initiate the project.
The project includes a six-day tour by train, taking participants to Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to attend the ceremony in Kazakhstan.
The project aims to promote culture, tourism and economy of Turkey.
