Turkish President Receives Foreign Minister Of Burkina Faso

ANKARA - Turkish President Abdullah Gul received Thursday Djibril Yipene Bassole, the minister of foreign affairs & regional cooperation of Burkina Faso, at the Presidential Residence in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
Responding to a question on a call by opposition leader Devlet Bahceli who urged the Turkish president "to take an initiative" after the Supreme Court of Appeals issued a statement on Wednesday criticising certain political circles for attempting to influence and control the judiciary branch, Gul said he was informed about the call and he would assess it.
The Turkish president also expressed hope that indirect peace talks between Israel and Syria through Turkish mediators would end successfully.
