Turkish-Greek Firendship Festival To Begin On June 7th

AYDIN - The 7th Turkish-Greek Friendship Festival will be held in the western Turkish city of Aydin Fourni island of Greece in June.
Nilufer Tarikahya, secretary-general of Daphne Turkish-Greek Friendship Association, said at a news conference on Thursday that the festival aimed at setting up bridges of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
"The festival was held in the southern Turkish city of Antalya and Rhodes island of Greece. Now, we will be celebrating the friendly relations in Aydin and Fourni island," she said.
The theme of this year`s festival was determined as "Water and Light" in an effort to draw people`s attention to environment pollution and global warming.
Academicians, writers and journalists from Turkey, Greece, France and Italy will be in attendance at the festival in which leading singers Leman Sam of Turkey and Pandelis Thalassinos of Greece will give concerts.
