Burkina Faso's FM Invites Turkish Companies To His Country

ANKARA - Djibrill Yipene Bassole, the minister of foreign affairs & regional cooperation of Burkina Faso, invited Turkish companies to his country.
Bassole, who is currently paying a visit to Turkey, and Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan held a press conference in Ankara.
Babacan said Turkey decided to open 15 embassies in Africa --one of them would open in Burkina Faso-- by the end of 2009.
Economic relations between Turkey and Burkina Faso have been progressing and trade volume which amounted to 6 million USD in 2006 would become nearly 12 million USD in 2007, Babacan said.
Bassole said the two countries could cooperate in several areas such as agriculture and textile.
Burkina Faso was also eager to open an embassy in Ankara, Bassole said.
Turkey was working for settlement of stability and peace in the Middle East and Burkina Faso was playing an important role for solution of several problems in West Africa, he said.
Bassole also said his country supported Turkey`s candidacy to have a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for the period between 2009-2010.
