Turkey And Switzerland Sign Agreement To Avoid Double Taxation

ANKARA-BERN - Turkey and Switzerland have signed an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation, Turkey`s Ministry of Finance said on Thursday.
The agreement was signed by Turkish Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan and his Swiss counterpart Hanz-Rudolf Merz, in Bern.
The agreement aims at making the two countries more attractive for businessmen by ending double taxation stemming from increasing economic and commercial relations.
The agreement, which also enables Turkish and Swiss officials to exchange information for a more effective struggle against tax evasion, will come into force in the coming months after being ratified at the respective parliaments of both countries.
Turkey have so far signed 74 similar agreements to avoid double taxation. 68 of those agreements are still in force.
