BOURGAS - Turkish foreign minister urged southeastern European countries for cooperation to attain respective goals.
"No country can act alone in the world of globalization and we cannot reach the targets we set out for ourselves on our own. We can only reach our targets by cooperating," Ali Babacan told Wednesday a summit of heads of state and government of the southeastern European countries in Bulgaria`s Black Sea town of Pomorie.
Delivering a speech on behalf of the Turkish prime minister, Babacan also stressed the importance of cooperation among the countries of the Balkans.
Babacan said Turkey welcomed the invitation extended by NATO to Croatia and Albania to join the Alliance, however said that NATO`s failure to do the same for Macedonia "caused sadness."
The Turkish foreign minister met his Kosovar counterpart Iskender Huseyni and Moldovan President Vladimir Voronim on the sidelines of the summit.
