ANKARA - Turkish girls inhabiting rural areas should enjoy opportunities and living standards of girls living in Ankara and Istanbul, Waltraud Lehn, member of German Social Democratic Party, said on Wednesday.
German parliamentary delegation headed by Lehn had a meeting with Turkish Parliamentary Health, Family, Labor and Social Affairs Committee Chairman Cevdet Erdol in Ankara.
Erdol said his government brought together hospitals under the aegis of the Health Ministry and also passed a social security law gathering under the same roof all social insurance institutions and organizations.
Lehn said Turkey accomplished remarkable reforms in the area of health in recent years, but yet there are lots of things to be done.
Turkey needed well-educated people because it was a fast growing country, Lehn also stated.
