ANKARA - A Turkish designer held a fashion show at the Austrian embassy in Ankara on the occasion of Austrian President Heinz Fischer's arrival in the Turkish capital.
Fashion designer Atil Kutoglu introduced his Fall-Winter collection for 2008-2009 at the show.
Speaking at a reception held prior to the fashion show, Austrian President Fischer said the show was an indicator of the good relations between Turkey and Austria.
After the reception, a total of 32 costumes designed by Kutoglu were introduced by 14 models.
Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler, State Minister Kursad Tuzmen, former parliament speaker Hikmet Cetin, officials from the Austrian embassy and numerous foreign guests watched the show.
Born in Istanbul 1968, Atil Kutoglu graduated from the German Lycée in Istanbul and went to Vienna, Austria to study business administration. When still at school in Istanbul, he was already freelancing for the country's leading fashion companies Vakko and Beymen.
In 1991, Kutoglu presented his first collection with the help of a grant from the Mayor of Vienna, Dr. Helmut Zilk. He has been presenting his collections with fashion shows at the New York Fashion Week for the past 4 seasons. Kutoglu's creations are sold in several countries around the world.
