Turkey's President Meets Former U.S. Secretary Of State

ANKARA - Turkey's president held talks with a former U.S. Secretary of State on Tuesday.
President Abdullah Gul received USA's former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and an accompanying delegation at the Cankaya Presidential Palace. The meeting was closed to press.
Madeleine Korbel Albright is the first woman to become the U.S. Secretary of State and the highest ranking woman in the history of the U.S. government.
She was appointed by President Bill Clinton on December 5th, 1996. After being unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate, she was sworn in as the 64th Secretary of State on January 23rd, 1997. She is currently a professor at Georgetown University.
Albright arrived in Turkey to attend a conference to be held at Istanbul Bilgi University.
