Turkish Parliament Speaker To Attend European Conference Of Presidents Of Parliaments

STRASBOURG - Turkish Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan will represent Turkey at the European Conference of Presidents of Parliaments to be held at Council of Europe headquarters in Strasbourg on May 22nd and 23rd.
Heads of parliaments will discuss the relationship between parliaments and civil society; and the role that parliaments play in promoting the Council of Europe's fundamental values -- democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Lluis Maria de Puig will host the conference which will also be attended by the parliament speakers of observer countries at PACE.
Heads of parliaments of countries that are the members of Council of Europe first convened in 1975.
