Turkey Becomes 25th Non- African Member Of African Development Bank

ANKARA - Turkey has been the 25th non-African member of the African Development Bank, officials of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Monday.
Turkey was accepted as a member at the annual meeting of the bank held at Mozambique's capital Maputo on May 14th and 15th, officials said.
Turkey, which is the strategic partner of the African Union, applied to the bank in February.
Turkey's membership to the bank is important for Turkish companies to participate in international tenders in African countries, officials added.
The African Development Bank was established in 1964 with the intention of promoting economic and social development in Africa.
